Since thyroxin (T4) was discovered in 1915, and thyroid gland hormone ( T3) was discovered in 1952, a lot of diseases have been found to be related to the disorder of thyroid gland secretion.

Medical investigations showed that the mistaken diagnosis rate of thyroid gland diseases to that of other diseases is up to 60%. And it makes the doctors and patients go on the wrong direction together. The following are some situations which are often misdiagnosed:

1) The heart beats and pulse are unusual, cardialgia ……Misdiagnosed as "Heart disease"
2) Easy excitement, anxiety, unusual mood…… Misdiagnosed as "Mental diseases"
3) The month period is unusual, more sweating ……Misdiagnosed as "Obstacle in menopause"
4) Diarrhea……Misdiagnosed as the disease of digestive organs, such as acute enteritis, etc.
5) Hands and feet become limp, muscular dystrophy……Misdiagnosed as the muscle, neural disease
6) Ordinary vitiligo, skin to itches……Misdiagnosed as dermatology diseases

Famous doctors of thyroid gland in U.S.A…….Burrows Bond, in a book which summarizes his experience in thyroid diseases in past 35 years. He got a famous statement that “Thyroid problem is the ROOT of all diseases”. That means almost all the diseases can find certain relation with the secretion of Thyroid Gland. He always emphases the important function of thyroid gland as health source of body. That is just like a thunder reminding people how important their thyroid gland is. He points out that many common diseases all involved in thyroid gland dysfunction. For example, having a headache regularly, easy infection of respiration organ, the rheumatism and bone-ache, sterile without reason, fish scale form skin, eczema, psoriasis, acne.

The thyroid gland is butterfly shape gland lying in the middle of our shank. Normally, thyroid can secrete suitable hormone to accurately control other hormone secretion and the functioning of our heart, liver, spleen, lung and kidney.

The secretion of thyroid hormone and their amount, and the rate to our bloodstream is controlled by a feed back system of pituitary. The Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) secreted by pituitary can stimulate the secretion of thyroid. If thyroid secrets too much or too little hormone, then our body will suffer from various kinds of diseases.

Hypothyroidism can be taken as a car of no fuel. Patients will react slowly, poor in memory, losing hair, gaining weight, be dropsical, feel cold and having constipation phenomena. Hyperthyroidism can be taken as a car full of fuel. Patients feel full of power at the beginning stage. All the organs are running very fast in their body. So they always feel hot, much sweat than normal, fast heart beat, and they cannot sleep well at night, have the feeling of neurotic easily. They feel easy to be angry, and they lost weight. Their eyes protrude.

II. Knowing Thyroid Gland

The thyroid is a small butterfly-shaped gland, located in the neck, wrapped around the windpipe, behind and below the Adam’s apple area. The thyroid produces several hormones, two of which are the key: triiodothyronine ( T3) and thyroxine (T4). These hormones help oxygen get into cells, and make your thyroid master gland of metabolism. Once released by the thyroid, the T3 and T4 travel through the bloodstream. The purpose is to help cells convert oxygen and calories into energy.

The thyroid is part of a huge feedback process. The hypothalamus in the brain releases Thyrotropin-releasing Hormone (TRH). The release of TRH tells the pituitary gland to release Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH). This TSH, circulating in your bloodstream, is what tells the thyroid to make thyroid hormones and release them into your bloodstream.

When our body absorb and accumulate the excessive pollution toxin, it will make thyroid malfunction and cause disorder of thyroid secretion. The most common results are hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism. These two kinds of thyroid diseases will cause a lot of complication, such as the hardening of the arteries (arteriosclerosis), thyroid tumors, clogged arteries, sex dysfunction, feeling tired and exhausted.

III. Thyroid Hormone Imbalance

When your thyroid gland is producing too much thyroid hormone and the balancing system doesn’t function properly, then you become hyperthyroid, and your body goes into overdrive, gets sped up, causes an increased heart rate, increases blood pressure, and burns more calories more quickly.

For hypothyroidism, the thyroid gland is not producing enough thyroid hormone. This may be due to autoimmune disease that makes it inactive, or drugs that have partially or fully disabled the thyroid gland, or surgical removal of all or part of the thyroid gland.

IV. Hyperthyroidism

Sometimes, our immune system may also stimulate the secretion of thyroid gland similar to TSH. It makes the thyroid gland to secret the hormone in large amount which is out of control. The situation like this is hyperthyroidism.

Symptoms :
Excessive amount of hormone will influence every kind of physiological function of body, and the patient will suffer from anxiety, irritability, nervousness, or even panic attacks, increased heart rate, high blood pressure, sweating more than usual, burning more calories more quickly, diarrhea, rapidly losing weight (even though eating a lot), hair becoming fine and brittle, protruding eyes, goiter etc..

Someone even has their blood sugar level increased. For females, they will suffer from disorder of hormones and emmeniopathy, itch vagina. For males, they will suffer from low sex drive, sex inability, etc.

Treatments : All the treatments currently used by western medicine are only "cure symptoms" but not “cure root”.

The current Western medicine or Chemical medicine only uses the following methods to depress the secretion of thyroid hormone. That always causes serious side effect and sequelae.

1 . Take medicines and let the thyroid gland neglect the message from hypothalamus and pituitary; depress the synthesis of thyroid hormone gland.

The medicines used now are Carbimazole and Propylthiouracil (PTU). They must be taken for every 6 to 8 hours, and should be taken continuously for several months. Its side effect is roseola, fever, arthralgia and lower white cell in blood. The main weakness is only less than 5% patients will be fully recovered.

2 . Drink Radioactive Iodine (RAI) to partially disable the thyroid gland

This treatment is the most criticized method. It will cause many serious side effects to patients: Permanence hypothyroidism.

The degree of radiation (amount of RAI used) that thyroid should be exposed is in fact difficult to control and based on doctors’ experience. The use of RAI mostly causes patients turn from hyperthyroidism to hypothyroidism. Therefore they have to take thyroid hormone replacement drugs forever. In addition, during the RAI treatment, the other organs or tissues are also exposed to radiation and thus they may be hurt, and therefore many diseases will be resulted in. Patients will feel very uncomfortable with their body and find the function of their organs decay very quickly.

Furthermore, RAI treatment is not suitable to everybody. Babies under 2 years old or people still have no children or pregnant woman are not suitable to do this treatment, because: The radioactive beverage may cause the appearance of the cancer after several years, or cause their fetus handicap.

3.Partially or fully remove the thyroid gland (thyroidectomy)

Sometimes when there is hypothyroid or hyperthyroid, neck will become enlarged. Most of these cases will find goiter, nodule or cyst in neck after taken ultrasound scan. Western doctors will suggest that the neck in question should be surgically removed for cosmetic reasons, or because they are making breathing or swallowing difficulty. However the surgical operation is rather complicated and the thyroid disease will recur if the thyroid is not removed completely. The worst result is that the nerves around the thyroid are easily damaged if the operation is not going well. It causes patients’ voice to be hoarse and paralysis. The auxiliary thyroid gland, which is located beside the thyroid and specialized in the metabolism of calcium, is probably injured during the operation. Furthermore most patients still cannot recover after the operation. About 80% of patients will recur. In fact, the side effect for thyroid removal is as serious as RAI treatment. Patients after thyroidectomy need to take thyroid hormone replacement drugs (Thyroxine) forever.

V. Hypothyroidism

Symptoms :
Patients feel tired and listless, and suffer long-term constipation, overweight, hairs loss, period too heavy, skin dry, etc… Many people still don’t know that their uncomfortableness is caused by the thyroid problem.

It is a disease easily neglected. Patients may spend a lot of money in reducing weight class, buying diet book, buy various kinds of cream to moist dry skin, buy medicine for constipation, using vitamin to supplement physical power but all efforts will be ruin.

Diagnose whether the thyroid gland is good or not, people must be alert with thyroid gland diseases. To arrange for a blood test can easily let you know T3, T4 and TSH level that will let you have much clear image about your body. It is advisable that you also test the level of cholesterol. Since higher cholesterol is often come with thyroid diseases.

Treatments :
Patients once confirmed that they got hypothyroid; doctors would give thyroid hormone replacement drugs for the patients. They think hormone replacement must be taken forever because the thyroid gland cannot be fully recovered.

VI. Conclusion :

Since the discovery of thyroid hormones and its tremendous influence on the internal system of our body in 1915, thyroid gland and its disease are studied. With good development of medicine, we can detect and diagnose the diseases in a very early stage. However, to the treatment of thyroid diseases by western medicine, there is no great achievement.

The much more pity is Western doctors cure hyperthyroidism by changing it into hypothyroidism and take hypothyroidism as final result. That brings endless agony in the rest of patients’ life.

The above has shown that the western chemical medicine becomes powerless in endocrine disease.

Recently, since Chinese Medicine become more and more scientific, people start to advocate the natural medicine, and Chinese medicine specialized in "Cure root" treatment. The development of the product – "Thyroid-Throu" brings new hope to multifarious thyroid patients. "Thyroid-Throu" is "Cure root", it solves all thyroid gland diseases and their symptoms, including hyperthyroidism, eyes protruding nodules, pituitary activeness hypothyroid, thyroid disease and graves. Its acute effectiveness with no side effect amazes many doctors and patients.

“Thyroid-Throu” is gentle Chinese herbal medicine formulation with obvious curative effect. It shows the power and strength of the natural herbal and wit of traditional Chinese medicine, "Thyroid-Throu" solve the difficult problem in the world, and shocks the whole Western medical field.
