Difficulty Swallowing? May Become Esophagus Cancer

A Magnesium Miracle:
Man Saved From Gagging
Carolyn Dean MD ND | July 28, 2009

Time to start reporting some Magnesium Miracle Stories. What’s a magnesium miracle? According to Dr. Dean’s Dictionary of Health:

mag·ne·si·um mir·a·cle (m g-n ’z – m m r’ -k l) n. A healing event that appears inexplicable to conventional medicine but resulted from the simple increase of the mineral magnesium by the person or persons involved.

Here’s my retelling (names changed to protect people’s privacy) of a great Magnesium Miracle Story that Ken Whitman at Peter Gillham’s Natural Vitality heard from one of his customers…
They Thought They’d Enjoy
A Simple Meal With Friends…
The moment the waiter served the meal Jeff jumped up from the table and ran for the restaurant’s emergency exit.

Jeff could feel the little bit of appetizers he’d eaten backing up into his throat causing tremendous pressure.

Jeff’s brother, Chris, quickly followed him into the back alley.

Lucy, Jeff’s wife,  explained to the other guests that her husband had long had a problem with the gastroesophageal junction (the stricture where his esophagus meets his stomach) clamping shut. “Usually he can feel it coming on and drink some water and it goes away,” she explained.

This Time, However, It Was Stuck Shut
Chris found his brother outside vomiting. Jeff couldn’t even swallow his own saliva. “Go back in and finish your dinner,” Jeff said, “I’ll be okay.”

Chris went back inside.

When Jeff didn’t return, Lucy went out to the back alley. She found Jeff choking.

“Do you want to go to the hospital?” she asked.

“No,” he said.

Lucy gave him water. He just choked it back up. She started massaging his chest. When that didn’t work she began pounding and pushing his chest against handrails. They even tried handstands. (None of these ‘”treatments” I recommend.)

Nothing helped. The stricture above his stomach wouldn’t relax. That’s when…

Tomorrow, I’ll Share With You
Part 2 of this Magnesium Miracle Story
Stay tuned, I’ll tell how Lucy used oral magnesium to save Jeff from this 35-minute ordeal when he wasn’t even able to swallow.

Yesterday, I started telling you how a couple, Jeff and Lucy, were out to dinner when the stricture between Jeff’s stomach and esophagus clamped shut.

Last we left Jeff he was gagging in the alley behind the restaurant…

“Go inside and finish your dinner,” Jeff told his wife as he hunched over a handrail. “Then we can head home.”

Lucy went back inside. As she sat down at the table she suddenly remembered: My sister swears Natural Calm has helped so many times whenever there was a weird body problem. (Natural Calm is a magnesium citrate drink produced by Peter Gillham’s Natural Vitality which he didn’t pay me to tell you about.)

“Natural Calm would work,” Luca told her friends who had gone back to enjoying their meal while Jeff choked to death in the back alley, “too bad we don’t have any.”

The magnesium angels, however, were with Jeff that day – one of Lucy’s friends remembered she had a bunch of Natural Calm powder in the trunk of her car.

Magnesium – Never Leave Home Without It
Lucy retrieved the packages, added water and made a super-concentrated serving. She went out and found Jeff gagging on his spit.

“Hold this in your mouth,” Luca said. “Don’t worry about swallowing.”

Jeff sipped a mouthful holding the drink in his mouth. About a minute later his face relaxed. Spitting it out, he said, “I want to try swallowing some.”

“It’s pretty concentrated,” Lucy warned.

Jeff took the glass and took a gulp.

Two minutes he smiled and walked back into the restaurant to finish his meal.

Explain the Miracle and Win a Prize…
I’m afraid the Vatican wouldn’t be interested in this miracle, as it can be explained with down-to-earth biology.

That’s a good example I will have to share this with a friend, from what I understand here is that magnesium can help in some way with guy’s with weak bladders.

I know one thing is that magnesium is recommanded for joints pain because we don’t get enough magnesium now in our nouriture, in the case of Jeff I think they give him a teaspoon or tablespoon of magnesium even he was stuck and this product open the oesophagus and save him.

For years I’ve taken a magnesium 400 mg cap most days to prevent muscle cramps (in my case mostly due to an indiscriminate and magnesium-depleting diet). My guess is that the gastroesophageal clamping shut Jeff experienced may be similar in nature, though not necessarily in cause.

Magnesium relaxes the neuromuscular response after muscles and nerves have contracted (which uses Calcium)… clearly Jeff was in a contracted state and Magnesium was needed to relax the spasm…

On Monday I’ll give you two reasons why I think magnesium cured Jeff so quickly and effortlessly.

If you think you know why, please leave your explanation in the comment box below. The first person to come up with the best answer (based on my opinion) will win a soft cover copy of Seeds of Deception – the international bestselling book by Jeffrey M. Smith exposing the industry and government lies over genetically modified food.

magnesium is a muscle relaxant and it relaxed the sticture in his throat allowing the man to swallow.

Hi Carolyn, I have a question relating to Pure Calm. A friend is going though thyroid balancing with her doctor. She would like to have a cup of Pure Calm but was told not to have any mineral supplements till the thyroid was balanced. Would it matter one way or the other if she does ?
This surprised me but I gave her something else at the time. I have made it a daily routine to have a cup of it and feel the benefits of it and thought it would be beneficial to her too. It is one of those little things I just want to know . It’s bugging me : )
Many thanks, Betty

Carolyn, I see an emergency here. Please pay attention.
Concentrated magnesium causes an 8 to 310-fold increase in rhinovirus release (Fiala 1967 and 1968) and a child or an adult with rhinovirus-induced asthma could suffer severe sequela or death from the seemingly safe act of slowly dissolving a magnesium dietary supplement in the mouth. See: http://george-eby-research.com/html/magnesium-asthma-risk.html and the two links.
I awoke one morning with this in mind, did a bit of research and filed an article with a medical journal within 3 hours. It was rapidly accepted.
IMAGINE! Perhaps asthmatic children will refuse to swallow – or be unable to swallow – their magnesium dietary supplement pills and elect to dissolve them in their mouths – fatally.
My daughter, Karen, used a single 100 mg (100 mmol) magnesium chloride throat lozenge ( of my design – see http://coldcure.com/asthmag.html ) while she was starting a mild cold and it became extemely severe and long lasting. In fact she lost a semester of college due to that one lozenge. Obviously we were treating with our zinc lozenges too, but to no avail. I mentioned that in the Discussion section of my published Medical Hypotesis article.
My point here is that when we recommend magnesium, we must remember that concentrated magnesium in the mouth can kill an asthmatic.

I think the magnesium relaxed the muscles in the throat.

Magnesium is known as “the relaxing element.” It is important for normal heart function and in enzyems required for metabolism of proteins, carbohydrates, and fats. Taking it in a highly concentrated liquid form and holding in the mouth allowed it to be quickly absorbed by the oral membranes to relax the gastro-oesophagus stricture.
Donna Ponzi commented on July 29th, 2009 at 10:28 am
I think because magnesium has a calming effect on the body and because it was a liquid I think it worked quicker and relaxed the muscles to the esophagus and adjoining areas.

I am very interested in this article. I have had a similar experience (have probably left hundreds of tables)over the years. My remedy was always to drink gallons of water to force food down. I would have loved to have known about this – instead I had some major surgery, which has caused other problems, for which I refuse to take medication. I think the magnesium probably relaxes the muscles (?) in the throat. I discovered magnesium for my restless legs and have never had a problem since.
Thank you – am looking forward to your book on “magnesium” – I do think it is a miracle!

Question:
When lung cancer patients are given Oxycodone for pain does it relax the throat muscles and prevent the patient from bringing up mucus which I would think would be deadly. If magnesium were given would it not prevent the person from bringing up anything in the throat also?
